The Foster-Glocester School District pursued an entirely unique method of deriving as much value from a school renovation and expansion project by combining $28 million of New Construction and $10 million worth of ESPC to include cutting edge energy saving technologies. The new High School will be an Alternative Energy themed school.

Project: Energy Savings Performance Contract - Third Party Consulting 

Client: Foster-Glocester Regional School District - Chepachet, RI

Scope: 

  • "Cash strapped" district with older facilities.
  • IAQ and fire code violations
  • Building new Middle School, expanding and renovating Alternative Energy High School.
  • Over budget, using ESPC to fund ECMs

Result:

  • Suggested Alternative Energy Insallations included: a biomass-fired heating systems, photovoltaics, wind power, high efficiency HVAC, controls, and daylighting. 
  • CEI managed the Performance Contracting, which lead to a $10.5 million project.
